To me, portraiture is the highest form of art. It elevates the subject and reveals the beauty and spirit of the person being portrayed.
As a commercial artist in NYC in the 1970s, before the advent of cameras in the courtroom, I provided trial portraits for NBC News. The experience taught me to "see" the subject, to capture the true personality of the person being portrayed. Moving to Queensbury in 1974, I worked as an illustrator at TV Data and later as Art Director for Genpak Corporation.
I have been contracted to provide caricature art for private, corporate and holiday parties at some of the finest local resorts.
As a member of the New York State Archaeological Association, I have been able to depict the 18th century in magazines and books. Most people, however, know me for my portraits and my editorial cartoons in newspapers. It's great to be able to do what I love best: create art for everyone.
