The Turkey Shoot

  1. Why did you need to trim the patch? I didn't need to do that when I was learning how to shoot a muzzle-loader, and the patch seemed BIGGER. Won't more patch just make a tighter seal?

  2. Debbie..It's the patch thickness that determines the tightness of the seal. my thickness is .010 which the rifle prefers.I cut flush at the muzzle which is the traditional way. It covers the ball perfectly and imparts the correct spin for accuracy. You may have been shown with a pre-cut patch which was oversize.
